Clean - Mom

I started working on a longer term story about what life is like for people after recovery from a life of addiction. After a life of hard core drug use, Donna Arenaz has managed to stay clean for five weeks, including the one month of recovery she went through. Having moved away from her social circle of users, she is starting fresh and trying to raise her daughter, Mercedes, in a world free of drug use.
This is the first set of pictures I’m posting from this thing. These are all about Donna and Mercedes relationship. I’ll be posting some new stuff soon as well. Stay tuned…

Apr. 17th UPDATE:

I really like the first picture and a few of the others. I know you just started, but keep your eyes open for things that relate to maybe the life of drug use. Maybe the book one does that, but keep your eyes free. Good start.
Sky, looks like a great start. I really like the first image. There are a lot of nice moments with the daughter, but I really like the bike one because it is just a great moment to catch and the one with the daughter on the phone because it get’s in there tighter and varies the distance more. Those are my favorite three. The second to last one is nice too.
There are a lot of nice images. However, the first vertical seems to be the most compelling image in this series. It is not astonishing visually, but it shows both her present (happy, playfull daughter) and her past (you can almost read the struggle in her expression). It is, to me, the most storytelling image according to the story line.
I second andrei, he said it better than I.
Hey Sky - this is a very nice collection of images. the previous comments are right on - i would like to see you get in tighter. in a lot i feel a sort of distance. that being said, you’ve got some great moments. i’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this story
