Firefighters from Oxnard and Ventura took part in a training exercise in an abandoned building in Ventura. The firefighters had to wear “smoke shields”, gray plastic inserts that block out light and mimic the poor visibility found in smoky buildings, while navigating the building.

These are a few of my fav’s, although I’m probably posting too many. It was pitch black inside, and the guys didn’t use flashlights. I shot most of it blind firing the camera and sometimes the flash towards where I thought they were standing. It would be fun to cover a few of these….
